“The criminal case against the principal was reclassified to a less serious crime, after which it was terminated”.

The general director of a company applied to Petukhov and Partners due to the fact that law enforcement officers initiated a search as part of the criminal case under investigation under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft), wherefore our barristers took part in the above investigative action.
Having analysed the circumstances of the criminal case, the barristers formulated and developed a legally grounded, justified and competent position to defend the principal’s rights, which enabled him to retain the witness status in a criminal case despite searches at several estate facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as further interrogation of the client. However, it was not quite the end of Petukhov and Partners’ work: the barristers kept on elaborating a line of defence for the principal at the next stages of the investigation as well. Thus, for examination purposes, the barristers provided the law enforcement agencies with the materials that could be essential for the investigation: hardware, video and audio materials, transcripts of negotiations. Our lawyers requested the relevant organisations for additional information and also appealed some of the investigator’s decisions to the prosecutor’s office. In addition, the Bar members announced a number of witnesses to testify, who subsequently obtained their legal support in the course of the investigative actions.
As a result of the well-coordinated work of the Bar’s lawyers, the criminal case was reclassified to a less serious crime provided for in Article 330 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and further terminated.
